So these High cheek bones we all hear about. Had to ask the ladies about them. The girl in the reception had some fashion mag out commenting on Kate Moss's HCB's :D
I am looking and saying to myself ... sure they are the same height as yours!
What are high cheek bones? Nearer your eyes? Stick out at your eyes towards your ears?
So if High cheek bones are a sign of beauty then what do people with low cheek bones look like.
I have again never heard anyone commenting on someone with exceptionally low cheek bones. Again does such a phenomen exist? There must be low cheek bones too if there are high ones?
Or like some actors where they have a noticable sucked in cheek like iggy pop? More defined? noticabley sharp?
Does the same hold true for men? Never heard a girl in my life saying... "jasusss cheek out the set of cheek bones on that"
It seems to me using make up models cheek bones have just been more defined using clever make up tricks and they are thin any way which just emphasies them.
Please enlighten me Ladies with the HBC stuff :D:P

    Yes it is this.
No biggy in my opinion. The chiselled/defined look I guess is deemed to be more 'typically' beautiful, but anyone can achieve such cheekbones with make up tricks.

Yep, it's just a chiseled look. If you don't naturally have the structure, you can do wonders with blush, bronzer and highlighter!

^ Bwahahaha. That is the most ridiculously obvious photoshopping I've ever seen!

I don't really get the whole high cheekbone thing. I mean I know high cheekbones are, but I've never thought as a defining feature in making someone more beautiful or whatever.

Here are some fashion models with high cheekbones: (and not *as* photoshoppped!)

    Natasha Poly.

    Freja Beha.

I like it looks really nice. Except on people who are too thin. This model's face looks a bit sunken and skeletal (maybe it's just the lighting and the angle though).

OK so as OPPOSED to HIGH what we really are talking about here is PROMINENCE not height up the face ie nearer the eye socket. Same level as mere mortals but more protruding

Yeah its more about the prominence - if you have a chubby face your cheekbones are going to be covered in fat so don't stick out at all!!!

I'm overweight and have a chubby face but still have very defined cheekbones. More so than my slim friends, so that has nothing to do with it either.

...and I'm the opposite - quite slim and petite but with a chubby face! I'd love to have proper cheekbones *sigh* but hopefully age will be kinder to my decidely non-skeletal face!

High or prominent cheekbones are only really noticable in certain lights, or if you have a prominent jaw. The jaw is the key really because with a wide jaw and high cheekbones it creates a 'hole' in the cheek which highlights both features. However like anything, I think its possible to have too prominent jawlines and cheekbones.
This guy is a good example of someone I think is way too defined, but it should give you a good idea of what high cheekbones are.

If you're still confused Kim cattrall; Samantha in sex abd the city has incredibly high cheekbones, without the sunken look- hence why she looks so well in her fifties as high cheekbones hold up the "sag" as we age normal_110.jpg or a more recent one
