Kicks off today in Berlin. Great to see a few events one after the other.

Pretty sure Eurosport showing this one.

It's fantastic! And after this we've got the Welsh, the China Open, the PTC in Dublin which will lead us nicely into the Worlds in Sheffield.
Eurosport will provide coverage from Berlin from Wednesday evening, feature match will show Jack Lisowski v Luca Brecel, two excellent young snooker talents.

Boo!! Just seen the tweet myself from @davehendon. Any ideas why the coverage is being pulled?

Just heard that Ronnie O'Sullivan has applied the rhythm method to the German Masters. Yes that's right, he's pulled out...

O'Sullivan withdrawal confirmed.I watched him play an exhibition with White last night and there didn't seem to be too much wrong with him or his game. With four ranking events left including the China Open in which he will almost certainly withdraw and the PTC Finals in which he didn't qualify his slide down the rankings will continue.
So realistically Ronnie has two ranking events left, the Welsh Open and the World C'ships to salvage something from his season.
Or maybe he just may as some respected snooker journalists think, just walk away from the game?

I know Ronnie is a genius but I have really had enough of him at this stage and I hope he does retire.

Will be interesting to see if he turns up at the Snooker Legends event this weekend?

Let's forget about Ronnie here, the show goes on and there is a ranking event in progress. What's your take on the tournament so far? Hamilton knocking out the world champ last night, and what about the set up in the venue? I for one think it's fantastic, maybe the way for the future events?

Really like the new set-up. Defo the way forward I think. Need to get away from those tiny cubicles in the back rooms. Will be good to see how they arrange venue for one table final rounds.

If your friends with Monique Limbos on facebook she has some cool photos of the venue posted.

Hamilton match was great. Have been a big fan of his since he came to do a DBSL exhibition for us. Really sound bloke and hope he has a bit of a run in comp.

Personally MJW Vs Hamilton final would be brill !

    Ronnie who ......???

John Higgins has today withdrawn from the German Masters due to his fathers worsening health, John Snr has been suffering from cancer for the last few years and only recently he was diagnosed terminal.
My thoughts are with John and his family now, John Snr is one of the nicest people you could wish to know and a very popular figure on the circuit.

Horrible news about John Higgins. Wouldn't wish this on any family.

Sad to report that John Snr has passed away this lunchtime.
    May he rest in peace.

Terrible news. Hope Higgins made it home before his father passed

Good final so far. looks like a brilliant atmosphere.

That was a great final, and a great event overall. The place was rammed all week with a good enthusiastic but respectful crowd. And what a relief to have them not wired up to Dennis Taylor with his tired old routine.

I hear that in HD you can pick out the reflection of individual audience members in the black ball - is it true? ;)
