In an article in the Irish Examiner of today 2nd February, Cork County Council is allocated €42 million of the €375 million in the Irish government road investment programme. This is the largest share.

Cork County Council has 12,5 % of local and regional roads in the Republic of Ireland.
Donegal County County is allocated €23 million.
Galway County Council is allocated €20 million.

Dublin City Council is allocated €8 million.

Well, this is no surprise and what I would expect given that Cork is the largest county in Ireland with the biggest minor road network.

Dublin city's share does seem relatively small but Dublin city does not have an extensive network of R and L roads.

You wonder with the cold snaps over the last 18months how much of this money is going on repairing damage caused in the freezing conditions. Obviously Cork/Galway/Donegal with their huge mileage of roads would probably have the most repair work to carry out.

Two different budgets being compared there. One is for national road improvements, one is for regional and local road improvements.

That figure could include the startup costs of the South Ring Road junctions too. I think the initial allocation was €10m or thereabouts
