    Hi,

A group of 5 of us booked flights to Gran Canaria for feb 15th for 7nights.

I found a good cheap hotel on Lastcheck.ie

When I went to book today the hotel came up as unavailable.

Doing some further searching for hotels in Playa del ingles its showing up on all the major hotels sites that every single hotel/apartments in that area are unavailable..
    could this be possible?

alpharooms.com travelrepublic.com and lastcheck.ie havent any hotels available.
We want to go all inclusive near the irish centre.

I did a quick count and between the 3 main hotels we had planned to book there are 1200 apartments.. how could they all be booked???

Does anyone know if this is some sort of business ploy by the sites to get u to book a dearer hotel or what??

any ideas anyone..? if i dont find a hotel our flights will be totally wasted.

Mid-term breaks for schools? Hotels closed for winter?

    Why not phone them direct?

A search on booking.com gave only two results for accommodation for 5, one was way out from the Irish Center (why there???? WHY????) and the other was exclusively for gays. I have to say, I'm surprised at the lack of availability, however it's always harder to accommodate a group of adults.

Anyway, I widened out the search for two rooms, one for two and one for three and got better results, mind you none are that close to the Irish Center and most are self catering. At this point (less than two weeks to departure) beggars can't be choosers!

    Here are the results

Of these, the Miraflor may be your best option at €1820 half board incl all taxes and if you must go to the Irish Center, it's about 7 - 10 minutes walk away. You'll need to be quick though, only a couple of rooms left! Booking.com secure the room on your credit card, but you pay on arrival.

With 5 of you it might be better and cheaper to look for your own private apartment rather than a hotel.

    thanks for your idea's.

All inclusive is important to us because it saves money on eating/drinking out.

    ok.. update on my problem..

Found a good deal for 4 people.. booked for 4 people..

The hotel has 400 rooms, so prob about 1000 guests milling around the hotel..

Gonna sneek in the 5th person after everyone has checked in.. yes its morally a bad thing to do but no choice at this late stage. going next week!!
I offered to pay extra for a 5th person but they said no it just isnt possible to book for 5..

any opinions on possible pit falls????

Yes I totally know if im caught ill get pegged out but its either take the change or dont go at all cos pretty much every reasonably priced hotel is totally booked up.

The pit falls are really just you get booted out - which will cost you more in the long run as you won't get paid back for additional days and you will have to rent new accommodation. In my student days we had several incidents of having to think on our feet to justify the presence of additional people in rented accommodation!

Steer clear of the Irish centre - total dump.

Where you staying, Corona Roja or somewhere like that?
