Came home this evening to water on my kitchen floor from leaking kitchen tap. Ive attached pics so it might explain it a bit better:
One lever tap leaking from under the lever. The base is loose/wobbly but not leaking.

I Youtubed some videos but couldnt find one for this type of tap. Also these are the valves under the sink:

Bottom shelf. I thought this turns off the water, but the valve wont do a full rotation because the shelf is in the way.Thought this was strange. Is this fixable myself (new washer or something) or do i need to get someone in? Thanks lovely Boardsies ;)

gotta love kitchen fitters who put in units that doesnt allow the stop cock to turn fully

only way u will get it off is taking the screw out and turning the spindal clockwise with some plyers, tho doing this too often will damage the spindal and you'll not get the head back on.

that bottom part of the tap should be tight and screwed up but normally to do that you need to loosen the tap or take it out, its not just as straight forward as changing a washer in those taps.

probably best to get yourself a plumber

The ceramic cartridge in the tap can be replaced if a replacement can be got but its difficult. I agree with above that taking off the handle will allow it be turned but i would also advise against this.

A quick and easy solution would be to buy an outside topcock key and turn the water off to the house while you replace the cartridge.

Dont forget to turn off the hot upstairs.

This is an easy job if your fairly competent plumbing wise but if you are a novice i really would not attempt it.
