Accessing the Will of a bereaved person

Hi, I'm looking for information regarding accessing 'The Will' left by someone who has passed on. I've tried searching on google but when ever I put the word 'will' in the search engine I keep getting irrelevant info.

I would like to view the will of my Grandmother. I presume she left a will but her immediate family aren't particularly interested in speaking with me.

    My questions:

    1) Is there a place that I can access wills to view them?

    2) Do you have to be related to the person to view their will?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. :)

Most wills are admitted to probate (I think the requirement is that they contain a dispositon of land) and as such are a publicy viewable document. You can get a copy for a nominal charge. A more knowledgeable poster on this forum will be able to give you the specifics. Otherwise a quick search should yield several threads with the answer you are looking for.

On an unrelated gramatical point; you want to view the will of the deceased. The bereaved people are still alive.

This is covered off. Use the forum search.

I think you meant to title the thread 'Accessing the will of a deceased person'.
