    Hey guys,

Does anybody know the exact procedure to get vetted by the garda? I rang them up today and all they could do was direct me to google and I can't find any direct answers.

I have an interview coming up soon and was asked to bring garda clearance with me if possible so I would like to try and do this. So far all I can see is most organisations have their own application forms which you fill in and they send for vetting?

Anybody have any suggestions I'm kind of lost.

That link explains most of what you need to do. you can find out your local superintendants names through the garda.ie website. you should follow up your letter with a call after a day or two and explain that you need it urgently and they should get it to you then within a few days

I would strongly advise you to do it as soon as possible, there are colossal waiting times for the whole process. Also, make sure you check the form over and over again for mistakes or omissions as it will come straight back otherwise (for the slightest error/omission). Finally, if you have lived @ many previous addresses make a list of them on a separate sheet and copy them in carefully or better still make a few copies of the for, i know it sounds v.obvious but just speaking from experience!!! Its bloody harder than it seems!!
