What did you expect them to do? All the TDs form a circle while Biffo strips his shirt off screaming "I CLAIM YE! YE BAXTARD CEANN COMHAIRLE!"

There appeared to be some smiles from the FF benches, but under the circumstances nobody really mentioned it by the time the speech was over.

I was far more amused by the prayer at the start of the proceedings, (in Irish and English for good measure), I had completely forgotten that our parliamentarians pray for guidance at the start of their sessions.

It has entirely shattered any remnants of my religious convictions to watch their policy decisions unfold and fall apart despite their repeated supplications unto the Lord. He must be watching network 2 when Oireachtas Report is on.

TODAY, in the Dáil when Brian Cowen was dissolving the government, the Ceann Comhairle introduced the Taoiseach as Bertie Ahern!!! Yes I do know it's umbelievable! I also have proof it's on the RTE website at: http://www.rte.ie/news/2011/0201/politics.html You MUST see this!!! Click on videos on the page and look at the second one, it's easy to find.

I suppose they'll have to cancel the election so.

And the HUGE MISTAKE you refer to is that:confused:
There have been many mistakes made in the Dail - a slip of the tongue hardly constitutes a HUGE one?

Amusing as it is, it's not significant enough to warrant a discussion (it's not as though there is a discussion, despite a page of posts). A slip of the tongue like this merits a few tweets and little more.
