Had one as a company wagon,Coming from a Caddy TDI to the 1.3 Opel I thought it would be painfully slow. Was quite surprised at how nippy it was even carrying a load.Bit like driving a big go-cart.Good on fuel to.Only problem it had in 2 years of hard driving was the clutch/flywheel going. Not a bad little van, alot nippier than my current connect.

based on the 1.3cdti corsa its nippy enough for a little van, certainly alot better than the likes of a sdi caddy.

Borrowed one for a month or so before Christmas. As already said, very nippy for 1.3 even though I never really had anything in the back. The one I had was an ex Royal Mail van but had a coolant leak, despite this though during the very cold weather it started everytime. 1.3 Fiat diesel engine is a little gem.

Ive been in fiats with that engine at 250k km and they were perfect. Hard driven doblo taxis, no problems at all. And the owner (who was Irish and had 20 odd of them) was continually buying them. I have heard horror stories with turbos. like any turbo allow them warm up and to spool down and it will help.

My best mate has 100k km on one in an Astra...last serviced at 22k km...I check oil whenever I can...it will go bang...but not before his brakes cause a bang I fear...

+1 - we bought a Connect at work, over a Caddy, last time. OMG awful. And not light on juice, either. Never again.

We were actually looking at a Doblo / Fiorino lately - it does seem good.

I have the 1.9 version of that engine in my Saab, and it is a peach, so I'd have no hesitation in buying it.

Someone in the family has a Astra 1.3 cdti. If you stay in the rev range where the turbo kicks in, it feels nippy, but if you go out of that its very slow. I didn't find it a problem though. I thought it was a decent drive tbh.

I've the 1.3 cdti corsa. It's grand like, not overly fast but its nippy enough as people say. It's very economical too, I get over 45mpg even when I ain't driving economically!

The 1.3 CDTi comes in two versions, 75bhp and 90bhp. I imagine most Corsas and Combos come with the lower powered version. The Astra definately comes in 90bhp.

Thats good 2 know thank you, im not a speed demon so long as she can deal with motorway speeds i will be happy, Will the 75 Hp be enough for this ?

    Thanks again

    Hi

I had a fiat idea with this 1.3 multijet engine 90bhp. Little flyer and always got 50mpg. (never got 40mpr as above, maybe fiat map it different to opel)

They can also get remapped for even more power also.

Fiat have sold this engine to many other manufacturers, a diamond of an engine.

I have a Corsa with this Fiat 1.3 engine also; it's great little engine, nippy enough and very economical- I regularly get up to 64mpg if driven with a little care!
