After considerable procrastination decided to go for it, any suggestions on how to appear capable in an interview? what would impress the tutor?. What would scare her?.

Make sure you know what you will study on the course. Have an idea as to what you want to do after the course. Have suitable questions to ask - like when do you get your uniform. What type of kit will you get? When are exams held? How many in the class?

Have a neat and tidy appearance - clean hair, nails. The usual for any interview.

is it the scd interviews you're going for?

if it is you hav nothing to worry about! everyone going for the interview basically has a place on the course.

Just know a bit about the college and what products they use. Have a good answer about why your interested in beauty + if any of your friends or family are in the industry. Dress nicely but dont over dress...i'd wear flats, neat hair, natural make up, smart trousers/jeans....believe me some people went WAY overboard in my interviews!

It went well. My laser therapist did say that (a) they will take my money regardless of what they really think of me and (b) that there is no jobs at all in the area currently.

However I'm in need of a challenge in an area that interests me now, unemployment is dreadful....more than likely I will get a place, she said she'l ring me in a few days and it's probable that I'll do it.

Incidentally if I want to buy second hand course books is there any sites where they might be available? There's 4 or 5 required and I'd rather save money and buy second hand if it was possible.

May place an ad in 'wanted' in adverts.ie
