Provisional results

I got the results yesterday and am extremely unhappy with 3 of them. I had the same lecturer for all 3 and now he's on sabbatical so I can't go talk to him about it.
I know I definately did better than the results I got and I can't wait till summer when the official results come out cos I'm a bit upset about it. :( Is it possible to get an appeal or recheck with provisional results? Should I go to the Head of Faculty or someone else about it?

You should go and talk to someone, but its unlikely you did better than the results that you got (unless your lecturer made a grave mistake on 3 seperate items). Your provisional results will become your actual results unless something changes this in the mean time (e.g. you getting them rechecked).

I know this sounds like an excuse but the lecturer didnt like me, they were also the easiest subjects I had and I was really confident coming out of the exams. But somehow I got the worst grades in them. I dont want the conversation to turn into that though, I'd just like to know what can I do about it now :(

Edit: are the provisional results checked by an external examiner?

Typically external examiners only review a small portion of the scripts, projects etc., as it wouldn't be feasible for them to check them all. Unless you take some action then as I already said your provisional result will become your actual result, barring the external examiner happening upon yours or there being a major problem with the correcting all across the exams/projects.

I am sure though your college provides a facility for you to review your work and marks. You should check if this is possible and the dates, with your departments administrative office.
