    You could try buying straight from Mac - http://store.apple.com/ie

    Probably won't be too much cheaper but they do offer educational discounts I think. If you're in college you could get that.

    You might be able to buy the software 2nd hand.

    You're actually paying more for the Mac buying it from amazon. In Irish Apple retailers that computer is €1999 and on amazon including shipping its €2060. Final Cut Studio works out about €750 so its worth buying it from Amazon at that price

    It's a 17" MacBook Pro (no 15" models on there right now), basically the same except you've 512 MB for Graphics and the bigger screen.
    Yours for €1,899 which is 15% or €350 off the regular price.

    The refurb store gets updated ~ midnight each day with the biggest update seemingly on a Friday night so you should keep an eye on it regularly.
