Sent you a pm give that guy a buzz! Wouldnt buy anything german pointer wise unless it came from a member of the German Pointer Club, the boys in it are very helpful and know their stuff about the breed and only keep good lines from good field trial lines! Too much crap on the likes of donedeal and thats not to bash everything thats on it but i know of afew people claiming to own and train ftch's that are crap and were never in a trial! Heres the link for the clubs website:

just my own opinion/experience.. there are several excellent lines of gwp in ireland that are not connected in any way to the german pointer club.. some of these dogs have been imported directly from germany, holland and the uk.. there are cases of ppl breeding ****e and charging top dollar as we all know.. lots of wolves in sheeps clothing out there. a little tip.. if you know where theres a litter going do some homework on the breeder and breed... i have seen some gwp pups constantly crying and howling even though they are excerised regulary and there are some being bred with a wicked streak in them hope this helps

best way to see if there from hunting lines, ask to see the mother or father working. You could have the best lines and the best mother and father working in the field and the dog could be a dud;) Donedeal have good dogs on it but as you mentioned above, some people try to build their dogs up to superman standards:D Would you consider an older dog in the 6 months - 12 months? by then you should see if the dog is worth the money

Thanks for all the info lads appreciate it. I already have a gwp,he's just a year old now and still pupish but really coming on in the last while has the makings of a great hunter. Got him on done deal so i agree they're not all bad, but then again there's a lot of luck involved with any dog. Looking for a bitch now to go with him maybe breed them down the line.Anyway got a few tips here so should be sorted soon.
    Thanks again.
