So its still here, its their and its pretty much everywhere,Since the economies of our country and many other countries crashed, like us we are all hurt by it.

Very few, with the sad exception of the "Elite" can escape this meltdown.
From 1 to 91,people of all age groups are been hit with cut back and loss of work, many with young families struggle to put food on their table, many make such sacrifices.

A song which came to my mind/& my heart is a Song by Christy Moore,& yes you guessed it!,its "Ordinary Man",but lets share memories of time gone by,and the present how it is hurting you share songs which tell stories, some songs are like many peoples day to day lives and what we now go through.

So a generation will be lost, but we must have hope that we as a nation will not crash and burn, many before us have fought this fight lets continue that fight.

I'm an ordinary man, nothin' special nothin' grand,
I've had to work for everything I own,
Well I never asked for a lot, I was happy with what I got,
Enough to keep my family and my home,
Now they say that times are hard & they've handed me my cards,
They say there's not the work to go around,
When the whistle blows the gates will finally close,
Tonight they're going to shut this factory down,
    Then they'll tear it dooooowwwwwwnnnnn.

Irish people tend to bury their heads in the sands of time. This is a good example.

On the dole, you're still richer and have a significantly higher standard of living than at least 5 or 6 billion people in the world. I wish everyone would stop whining on here and realise how lucky they are to be born in Ireland.

My soundtrack to the recession has been 'Soup is good food' by the dead kennedys

    We're sorry
    But you're no longer needed
    Or wanted
    Or even cared about here
Machines can do a better job than you
This is what you get for asking questions

    The unions agree
    'sacrifices must be made'
    Computers never go on strike
To save the working man you've got to put him out to pasture

If you're in the mood to feel sorry for yourself have a look at the last few minutes of part 3 of Reeling in the Years 1986. The song is 'As I Leave Behind Neidin' sung by Mary Black or someone. Coupled with images of people emmigrating and the plane flying away it should ruin your day. Or you might get a good laugh from the lad with the pretty intense lisp.

You don't get it. Christy's Moore's 'Ordinary Man' sums up all that went wrong in this country in the 80s - it a takes thousand news headlines from back then and compresses them into one song. And now, 25 years later we're back there again.

Yeah, you'd cry too if you could remember half your family and most of your friends emigrating in the 80s and then look at your teenage son and know the same fate is in store for him.

I think people will enjoy emigrating now though.
