Spilled water on my laptop last week. It wouldn't turn on at first but then worked for a day. Since then every time I turn it on a couple of lights (num lock and caps lock) come on but nothing else happens. Anybody got any idea what may be wrong and also somewhere to get it repaired, preferably in south Dublin? Thanks

With water damage, unless you're extremely lucky, you'll need a motherboard replacement. Expect it to be expensive, €200+.

Well I got cuppa over my keyboard (no milk or sugar). I dried it off instantly and put in hot press for week but still seemed 'dead'. I was told by a techie that motherboard needed replacing but instead got replacement cheapie laptopand transferred data. It spent six months under my bed and was going to dump it. More out of habit I turned it 'on' and magic :) it came on perfectly and has been going ever since! I was told that I should have removed the battery asap as well as disconnect power.

    Good luck!
