Driving UCD to Naas at evening rush hour

Hi

Boring question sorry, but i couldn't find a recent answer by searching.

I need to be in Naas at 7pm on Thursday evenings for the next few weeks. I don't generally use the M50 at that time of day, so have no idea how bad traffic is these days.

What time would I need to be leaving UCD at?

Also, is there benefit to coming off the M50 at Tallaght and going via Citywest to avoid the Red Cow, or is it all the same?

I think you need to be gone by 5:30pm, earlier if its an interview or similar.

Thanks Victor. I'd had a look at the google maps already, but I assume it can't take into account time of day.

I had been thinking of leaving around 5:15, as you have suggested, thanks.

have you thought about the bus? there is a 126 from Belfield at 5pm getting into Naas at 6.20pm, it goes non stop from the Ha'penny bridge to Naas.

Thanks for that. However, the place I'm going is a few miles outside Naas rather than the town itself, so driving is (unfortunately) probably the better option.

If you are gonna arrive at the red cow junction after 5, then you are best coming off at Tallaght and doing the city west route instead. It will save you a lot of time.

If you are coming off at Tallaght, I'd consider Cheeverstown road. It will leave you at the Baldonnell turn off and avoid Citywest estate itself.

Citywest Road can be a bit crazy at rush hour.
