    They should let it in if you get eHobby to downgrade it before shipping, but you run the risk of it going for ballistic testing, which could take a few weeks.

    For a rough guide to the total cost - add the cost of the gun plus shipping, then multiply it by 1.21 for the VAT. Then add €13.50 for the courier admin charges. Dont forget to factor in the Paypal exchange rate, which is typically a cent or two more than the going rate from the banks.

    After you have worked out your costs,why not ask a retailer to quote you for it.

    Usually there is very little difference in the costs and you have less risk by getting a retailer to bring it in.

    Good luck whatever you decide.

    http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/aandk-m249-para-airsoft-aeg.html

    price.jpg?t=1296558869

    Price = $259
    Carriage = $129
    Total = $388
    €uro = €290.64
    Ehobby charge for downgrading I think its a €10 for arguments sake.

    Total = €300
    Customs Duty = €310.50
    VAT = €375.71
    Courier Admin Charge = €389.20

    LANDED PRICE = €389.20

    If you ever get it at all ;)

    Couldn't agree more. For the extra few quid you might pay why not let an Irish retailer take all the hassle out of importing it for you. I know Eirsoft offer partner products from eHobbyAsia and both QAS and GoTactical work with RedWolf.

    i used eirsoft just before christmas to get a AEG from ehobby. it was great, no hassel - well worth paying the extra few quid for the service.

    I got an AEG from ehobby recently and was assured it was firing at around 300 fps. When it arrived it was firing at 400fps so had to downgrade it.

    It was lucky customs did not crono it. So be warned..

    If asking these companies to downgrade a gun why not just ask them to remove spring altogether. In doing this customs cant confiscate it. Also eliminates damage to gun if companies are drilling cylinders create an air leak or cutting springs whichs can lead to varied fps figures from what i gather. You will then be able to install a spring of your choice for a nominal enough cost over here.
