Samsung Series 5 LCD TV - Black Screen w/ Sound

    Hey guys, first post here. Tried a search but couldn't find anything, and google's not being much help.

    The folks got a 40 inch Samsung Series 5 LCD TV yesterday and it worked grand last night for a good 6 or 7 hours.

    Today problems started with it - The screen is going black after 5 or 6 minutes of operation, but the sound is staying on. I checked the scart connections on our NTL digibox and the TV - both were fine.

    Anyone any ideas what's going on? Is it just a dud?

    We have the same problem tonight...the "good" news is that it's the second time this has happened. Fingers crossed a "hard reset" works again this time, plug it out for 4 hours +..will update in the morning

    The TV came back to life last time after a couple of days..happened again yesterday so finally got a technician out..he said screen needs replacing and it's uneconomical to do so :mad:

    Samsung have agreed to replace ours. Phew!
