Got my entry in this morning, the cycle can only be easier this time round, can't it ?

Such a savage race, would recommended it to anyone experienced or new to the sport...The craic in the hotel after the race is deadly also. Brian, Paul and Ciaran put on a great event.

I love the Achill race, my favourite by a long shot..

The head wind in parts last year nearly killed me, especially the last few miles to the finish
I certainly hope it's easier this time..

bugger missed the early bird but i will be there nonetheless... best race of the year by a long way... hoping to knock significant time off this year by actualy putting the kayak in the water before paddling.. mustve been beached for a few minutes before we realised we werent moving

I signed up for early bird yesterday. I've decided to do just Roar and skip Gaelforce this year as its a rip off.

I must agree with you about the poor value of Gael Force, I even had to argue with some lady giving out soup so I could get a cup for a drink of water out of one of the 1000L industrial containers at the finish last year, however the craic in Westport with so many people in for the race and the banter on the race itself make it a worthwhile event to do.

1/2 thinking of doing the same thing, I might be roped into doing GF for the Childrens hospital in Crumlin , but if I am not I probably will leave it. Too bloody dear! :(

I was thinking of doing the same! But the 2 lads I mainly train with are gonna do GF again so it's gonna be hard to not enter it if they sign up!

Anyways, have done the sports Roar for the last 2 years so it's time to graduate to the full course!!
