General information

Anyone got a link to a site about general information on inflammation and joint pain? I tried to ask a general question about this earlier and specified I wasn't asking for medical advice but the thread was closed. I'm a reasonably intelligent 37 year old with a science background and am not stupid enough to not seek medical advice if this pain persists so don't need to be patronised and told to seek a doctor's advice. I will do this, thanks. I'm just simply interested as to what might be exacerbating the pain, that's all...

we can't comment on what might be exacerbating the pain as WE DONT KNOW.

despite your original medical advice disclaimer, your original post was just that.

btw, it is not patronising to advise someone to seek medical advice when they post here regarding worsening symptoms. Its what we do with all such threads.

your re-post is sailing close enough to the line tbh, but I'll leave it open for people to post links but no opinions.

Brief overview of joint pain. If you have a read you'll find a lot of information but also see why people can't give you specific advice over the net. You could be describing anything from the flu to lupus (it's never lupus!).

The first big question is are you sure it is "inflammation & joint pain". Again not trying to sound patronising but the majority of young people (I would consider 37 young) who tell me they have inflammed joints do not. This is especially so if referring to knees, elbows and shoulders. Basically if you are not sure the pain refers to the actual joint (rather than around the joint) then see a doctor. If you are sure it is inflammation and pain affecting your joints then at the age of 37 you should definitely see a doctor.

Thanks to the two posters who have replied here. As I said very specifically here and in the original thread that was closed, I was not seeking medical advice (I have a GP for that!), just a bit of information and will have a read of that link. And thanks for describing 37 as young, made my day!
