Little things going wrong

Hi, I am bring my car for a service- my first time. Lately I've noticed:
    1) passenger window is very slow going up or down (electric)
    2) The cigarette lighter is not charging - no device works. Is this the fuse?
    3) I get an electric shock everytime I close the drivers door??!!

Are these things I can ask to be looked at? Will they charge me an arm and a leg for the fuse when you could do it yourself? Is the window fixable- if it is at a massive cost I'd leave it.
And the electric shock thing- wtf?? It is only the driver door- I now close it by putting my hand on the window:o

The electric shock is likely to be related to the shoes you wear as much as anything else.
Ask garage to have a look at lighter, might cost next to nothing.
You coul get them to lubricate the runners to help with the window.

Thanks for that. I read the lighter problem might be the fuse which is cheap to replace if you know how...but i don't.
Regarding the shock - it is only on drivers door and has only been happening for the last few weeks. Maybe it's my clothes? I actually wear the same shoes driving all the time but I'll try a swap.

Windows in general tend to stick.Spray some silicone spray on the guides. You should be able to check the fuse yourselve. The shock is probably static, not dangerous.Clothes as was stated.

I used to get a shock every time I got out of my parent's Meriva. Irritating but unlikely to be a problem.

If you are getting a shock from your car then there is a bad earth somewhere which could be causing issues like blowing fuses too..

I think the shock might be because when you twist to get out you build up static. Are seats cloth or leather?
You can try touching door metal as you twist and exit, this should diffuse the charge.

Passenger window, you can pop the door card and spray the runners with silicone oil.

Could be a stiff mechanism - spray some silicone lubricant in the window runners and it may cure the problem.

Yep - most likely the fuse and maybe an ill fitting adapter causing the fuse to blow.

Not the car's fault - it's you. Change your shoes and all that but I had this for 2 years and nothing made any difference and then one day it went away. I still get it at random intervals with different cars/clothing/footwear.

Hold the door frame while putting your foot on the ground.:)

Works a treat - or touch the car first with the back of your hand - less nerve endings = less pain.

    Thanks for all the replies.

It has just dawned on me that my dad put seat covers in my car 3 weeks again so maybe this is it. :D

I will check out the silcone spray and fuse for the lighter. Thank God for google and boards- 24 hours ago I didn't even know there was a fuse- I was looking at buying a new sat nav first!
