Hiya I searched a Lil about this and couldnt find an answer!! I need tablets I've been on for the past 2 years I have always had no problem getting tablets. This is what happened this month!*
I got a script filled at the beginning of the month and left a reminder on the script (I only got 30 tablets *) i spent €120 (they are dear tablets) So I went back tonight. And he said I had to Pay 120 again. Coz I can't get another month percriotion in the one month.*
The tablets are not daily ones I take them when I'm in pain.*
My understanding of the drug payment scheme is once you buy a *prescription in one month for value of 120 you shouldn't have to pay any more on scripts that month. Can anyone help me clarify this. I'm now down 240 on tablets this month on tablets.

I would suggest that you consult your doctor. If the pain is that bad, either the doc probably under prescribed, or you are taking more than you should.

If the doc said 120 per month on the prescription, then that's all you can get on drug payment scheme.

Two ways to handle this;

1-You get 28 days supply
This works out at 13 dispensings (364 days) in the 12 months i.e. for 12 co-payments of 120 euro, you get 13 dispensings.

2-You get 30 days supply
This works out at 12 dispensings (360 days) in the 12 months i.e. for 12 co-payments of 120 euro, you get 12 dispensings. I've given out an extra few days at the end of the year to make up the difference of 4 days.

Anyone who gets 31 days supply per month is generally a pain in the proverbial.

You paid your 120 for January and then your 120 for February.

I think the issue here is (and I may have read too much between the lines) that you have a repeat prescription.
This allows a months supply to be dispensed
Effectively you have got an months supply a bit early hence paying the 120 again.
If you fine there are not enough tablets in the prescription then you need to review this with your doctor.
The other issue which has come up here before is that most tablets/medications come in packs of 28 while a month can vary fro 28-31 days. This balances out over a 12 month period when in practice the 13th dispensing or "months" supply should be free ot covered under the DPS.

It depends on the tablets, if they are pain killers that are prescribed at a frequency of more than 1 a day then maybe you should have gotten more included in januarys €120. Ask your pharmacist.

But you didn't get caught for €240 in january, you have febs paid now it was just foreward dated into feb.

What you can't do is get 2 monts supply covered by one payment of €120.
