So my 9-month old feisty daughter is generally the happiest little kid going but recently we've had a couple of instances of temper.

One day I picked her up and she screamed loudly and used both hands and feet to have very violent swipes and clawing at me.

Today she tried to bite Mrs r3nu4l when she wiped her face after eating (I say bite but she has no teeth so maybe she tried to 'gum' Mrs r3nu4l :D).

So I know all kids have temper tantrums but has anyone experienced very violent behaviour in their 9-month old?

Our guy has been doing this for a while as well. I guess they're just trying to assert themselves as individuals. The ole "DO NOT WANT". :D

Tried to pick him up this morning when he was playing with the bin and he went all platoon, two arms above the head and back arched. He hates having his face wiped and will swipe and pinch. There's nothing much you can do at that age apart from give them the A-ah treatment. I've only been bitten once, with teeth and on the belly. Little savage!

My small man has been like this a while, (for different reasons unfortunately)
However our occupation therapist was showing me ways to bring him out of his tantrum, one way that I unusual but very very effictive, was facing the child, stroke the shoulders to wrist firmly only in that direction - not back up

    Calm him down incredibly quick
    Hope thats useful

The gumming thing can sometimes just be frustration with the teething process, our junior used to go mad with some of his toys, like a shark attacking a penguin

It's tricky, sometimes you admonish and sometimes you comfort.
