    Hi folks,
Just wondering how to go about or how hard it is to add a 2nd gun to my licence, I have a pump but would like to get a nice o/u for clays?
    Cheers

it shouldn't be an issue, if you got your 1st gun on the basis of a trigger lock, then you will need a gun cabinet for more than 1 Gun.
The license cost is the same as for the first Gun, there used to be a significant discount for 2nd and subsequent guns but now they are all priced at the same level.

    A 2 gun cabinet is ~€100-200

You'll get a second license, you won't add anything to your current license ;)

Once you've sufficient good reason for the second shotgun, I can't see there being any problem. O/U for clays, pump for wildfowling perhaps? Two different jobs, so explain the difference between the two if asked.

How long would you have to wait for 2nd license?

From my personal experence for a new license for a gun anything from 3 days to 7 + months.

First was 3 months, second was 2 1/2 months (both 1 & 2 came at the same time), third was 3 months, 4th was 7 + months, 5th was 3 days.
    Its a lottery out there.

Do you just apply again from scratch,as in do I have to get land owners permission again or does the original stand?

Also do you get the gun then apply or apply then get the gun?
Last time I just took over the fathers licence so I had the gun first.

you will need to have a deal done on a gun to get the seriel number off the dealer. your same permissions should do so just type them up again but if its for clays wont ya need membership of a club?? one of the other lads will know that!
