    Hi,

I have a desire hd, and while at times it's super quick and snappy, other times it lags- a lot. At the moment, as soon as I swipe the screen to unlock it, it stalls for a couple of seconds, then browsing through the homescreens..they stall in between, and stutter/pause. If I press a button, nothing happens- I press it again..nothing and then all of a sudden it clicks twice...very annoying.

And idea as to whats causing it? I have task manager, and have received no alerts that any apps are hogging resources etc..

There's a bit of a bug in the Desire HD that causes lag. Can't believe they're still sending phones onto the street without having this fixed, but anyway..

To fix it you need to turn on 'USB Debugging'. If memory serves, that's in Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging.

Switch debugging on and you should see a huge improvement.

Had similar issue and it seemed to happen after I declined a system update...you would have thought it would happen the other way around!! Anyhow had to do a system reset and its been flying since, really quick boot up as well! I declined the System Update because I read online it cause more issues than fixing them.I just turned on USB debugging there now.

Can anyone tell me why when I read my e-mails in Gmail on the handset or delete them they are not deleted\read on Gmail when I log in from the desktop? Really starting to annoy me. I am pretty sure I have all the correct settings turned on.

    Cheers,
    M

This has happened to me before.

Settings > Applications > GMail > Clear Data.

Restart the app and everything should be syncing again.

No, there shouldn't be. What you're basically doing here is resetting the phone app which should clear any bad configuration and kick-start the syncing.

That's what worked for me, anyway. I think it was a software update (on the phone) that caused it to stop syncing.

Great stuff mate. Did you apply the latest system update the pops up now and again? Was it sluggish after that?

I'm using a custom rom so I wouldn't see those notifications / updates.
