Could i clear this up before i prestige

If i prestige i lose all my points and guns, do i lose anything else?

If i dont prestige i play normal but reset to level 1 and work my way up again and again?

This was probably answered somewhere but i couldnt find the answers anywhere

you lose points, guns, attachments, equipment, perks, everything you've unlocked or bought, you're basically starting as if you just bought the game again, you just unlock more emblems and have a different icon on your playercard.

if you don't prestige you just continue gaining points and can complete achievements/perks but you will stay on level 50 for ever

Any emblems or playercards you buy don't reset though, so buy as many as you can before you hit prestige.

but right now it says i need 55000xp to reach level 1, but i dont actually go to level 1 when i get them, i just stay at 50?

i was going to prestige but im not sure, there's no real rewards that make it worthwhile

Yes, you'll just stay at level 50 until you hit prestige.

Yeah you stay level 50 until you push the prestige putton. All exp you earn will disappear if you stay at 50.

You get an extra class slot every second time you prestige, up till prestige 9 I think. Then you start unlocking silly stuff like gold guns, facial tattoos etc.

I regret Hitting the prestige button anyways, I know that much, Playing with the MP5k again for 14 levels is a pain in the arse to say the least...

Shoot and pick-up was the way i got through the first rake of levels

Tried that, but the games I seem to go into with the lads, I'd pick up a gun an some kunt wud be in a room behind me or sitting in a corner an I'd die straight away, didn't help too much that I was locked when I prestiged :P

It's class. I love the default set up. You just run at the baby buffalo all guns blazing like I did after I prestiged Went up 7 levels in the first game :pac:

There;s a trick to it thou. You can't really stop and faff about whilst figuring out which gun to swap etc. You have to just do it on the fly i.e. pick up a dropped gun without stopping or slowing down. You gotta just be thinking ahead a little to have the right gun out (bearing in mind that whilst swappign guns you are a sitting duck of course!!

Thats pretty impressive. The most I went up in one game was 5.

OP you will get more enjoyment out of the game if you prestige everytime. Am on level 49 on 6th prestige and as soon as I hit 50, am going to prestige again. I think I might go do that now before the new maps come out in the morning.:D

I haven't prestiged at all. Been on lvl 50 for ages now though and I think il start prestiging just to have something to work towards. Only thing is unlocking all the pro perks took fooking ages!

It's the challenge aspect I like. I'm very goal orientated so I need something like this to keep me going. In COD4 I had to start a new account on the PS3 when I maxed out everything there was available(every challenge 100% completed legit) as I was so bored having nothing else to really aim for.

edit - with double XP this weekend. I plan on prestiging twice. I feel those who are entirely bothered about Pro Perks should be taking advantage as well of Saturday and Sunday.

What do you mean? I'll probably prestige one final time (for the 8th slot), plus I'll be able to get all the good guns back twice as fast.

Ps3 party friday night? Some SnD, HQ?

i wouldnt say prestige is a total waste in fairness . everytime i prestige i end up trying guns and perks i wouldnt have during my first playthrough . once your forced to give up your g11 or commando you'l realise that the mp5k or the m16 isnt all that bad at all . and cop onto what a life saver flak jacket is

I'd definately prestige if getting the pro perks wasn't such a grind. I like Marathon/Hardline/Ghost/Warlord/Steady Aim/Tac Mask and SOH pro. Seriously couldn't put myself through getting the pro versions every prestige.
If I didn't have SOH pro on my AK47 I'd just be too

i wish it was possible to track the performance on each prestige, things like
first - levels 1-50 1 day 14 hrs
second - 1-50 1 day 4 hours
third...

I'm the same. It was such an effort to get the pro perks. I still haven't gotten around to going for Tac Mask pro (which I only recently realised was about 10 million times more useful than the non-pro version.... and that's not an exaggeration :P) but am going to do so soon.
I just couldn't deal with having to go through it all again. I'm trying to play less of the game, not more

Its more of a challenge and goal orientated!! I feel it makes the game more enjoyable!! Can get stale otherwise!!

There should be a *not* added to the my original post.

I reckon I can prestige a couple of times over the weekend for sure if I play mainly Dom and HQ. SnD is streak dependent for me.
