Had a quick look at UPC's website and they are offering Setanta and ESPN at a price however they are part of any Basic package for free albiet just 1 channel of each.Anyone I know that has UPC makes do with the free Setanta and ESPN channels and don't bother paying any extra.
How is it that they are broadcast on UPC 'free' yet Sky customers have to pay extra for them.?
Surely if Sky want to compete with UPC who hold a trump card with their broadband then Sky could offer these channels as part of the News and Events pack as an incentive to prospective customers. It would also go some way to making up for not having BBC1HD and ITVHD etc. on the epg here.

UPC did a deal with both channels. Until Sky see a drop in subscribers they wont need to do anything.

In the sports sector of today Indo, in an article about Armagh versus Dublin Football match been shown at the weekend on Setanta, the journalist said the match is been shown in High Definition, must be a mistake, seen no reference anywhere else to this

Setanta do have a HD channel on cable so it is very possible.
