    Saw a report yesterday which referred to him being treated for delayed shock, so assumed he was in a state of shock when spotted reading his map just half an hour after the fall. It's hardly the natural reaction after falling 1,000 feet!

    I know a few hikers whose first inclination after falling 1000 feet would be pull out a map and "tut tut I was right, that crag isn't marked on the map!"
