    I am what I am said the man
    work all day to earn my pay
    then home to do the dishes
    Santa Claus at Christmastime
    fulfilling childhood wishes.

    Husband father lover too
    wiping babies asses
    picking up dropping off
    children after classes

    Cooking this baking that
    feeding hungry faces
    quietly worrying where I'll get
    the money for the braces

    Singing songs telling tales
    doing the best I can
    pretending I'm not feeling pain
    thats what I do said the man.

    Cutting grass painting walls
    fixing what I can
    so leave me alone when I'm on my own
    I am what I am said the man.
