Its a sad day when people are giving out that Terry Wogan DIDNT visit Waterford.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

:D It was just another fine example of the "Dublin Cork Limerick Galway" Brown Thomas group mentality.

To be fair there's an entire series on travellers that is relevant to that part of the country

he did visit here ...in fact the Terry Wogan golf classic was held at the course here with celebrities like Ossie Ardiles, John Giles, Eoin Hand & many others back in the early ninetees.

We really are very parahoicial in this country. So Terry didn't visit Waterford. So what?

Yep. Whether people agree with it or not, Waterford is not regarded as a city outside of the county. Same goes for Limerick and Kilkenny as well. Just big towns. Thats probably why he didn't cover it.

I hear that Wogan hates Waterford. Detests the place with a passion. The scummy south east he calls it.

tbh the thread was started in half jest, I thought it was about typical of the meeeja that they did the obvious tourist **** - Kerry and Galway and bypassed about a third of the island. Our PR is terrible.
