In a taxi cue last night in town with about 40 others behind me and obviously wanting to get home asap took the first taxi that came.

It was an old shape 1997 toyota avensis.

The car was clean fair enough but horrible old 90's cloth seats. Wasnt comfortable and to be honest I expect more considerin I spend stupid money for the journey home.

So when is this 9 year rule comin in??? Not bloody soon enough, thats when!:mad::mad:

Think for cars that are 10 years old, at there next annual renewal date, so if this one was renewed on 30/12/10, it doesn't have to be changed until 30/12/11 - I think

I'm all for keeping cars going as long as it is financially sound to do so.
In fact I disagree with this change apart from one important point:
The price of taxi's in Ireland is so high there is no excuse for second rate equipment.
