    but at web "http://www.upc.ie/termsandconditions/acceptableusagepolicy/"
    section 3

Is the words 'unlimited' same as "250GB or 500GB".

I cannot understand what's unlimited for.

    thank you

I am not a native English speaker.
    What's "Fair Use Policy'?
Is there any telecom company provide unlimited usage for home user?
    Thank you

    No

Fair use policy is meaningless and is just a way to impose limits.

No laws enforce the way how telecom company to advertise?
I think when I sign the contract, the company should tell me the detail.
Not give me many piece of papers. Hardly to read all of that.
How many usage limits are there for the eircom company?

Comreg, the telecommunications regulator, was supposed to take action on this a few years ago but failed to do anything.

    It is "Unlimited Download allowance".
But is there still a limited for usage?
I have read any terms . I cannot find it.
I want to choose a better Internet service provider.

    Unlimited monthly usage allowance

With Next Generation Broadband Advanced you have an unlimited monthly usage allowance. This is subject to a fair usage policy of 250GB per month. For more information see the standard Broadband Terms and Conditions

I feel these words are very contradiction.
I know meaning ,but cannot full understand.
Why do laws forbid the exiting of fair usage policy?

It isnt really grand at all. All of these products have defined caps which should be listed with the products. The basic items which interest a customer or prospective customer are price, speed and download/upload limits.

These should all be clearly stated in the product description and it should not necessitate a web site search or participation in a word game to find out any of them. And as I have asked before what is "fair" when it is being decided and imposed by one party to the agreement.

Again Comreg have an unenforced policy on this::rolleyes:
ComReg would like to advise consumers that any provision of a contract which sets usage thresholds, or describes what constitutes ‘fair’ or ‘acceptable’ use, should be clear and unambiguous, particularly where the service is described as being ‘unlimited’.

Usage thresholds or limits should be clearly set out, as should the manner in which they may be updated or amended.

Sadly you are correct there is a total contradiction.

Companies think customers are idiots and will accept any old crap.

They get away with using this "fair usage policy" crap because none of the people who should be doing something about it will act. Those bodies are Comreg, NCA and ASA.

Any company using the term "Unlimited" that has any sort of qualification on it is attempting to deceive. Draw your own conclusions from that behaviour.

    What's caps?
I think the congress have the duty to tell how the telecom company provide the service.

errr, hate to bring it up, but it's a FUP, not a FAP. :o

a fap is something very different indeed!

think of it this way, your ISP will FUP you, but you will usually FAP yourself. :pac:

ISP's duty is providing service. Do not tell consumer how to use the broadband.
Said unlimited, but limiting using actually.
If said unlimited, please provide unlimited service.
NO FUP for everyone, we pay we got the service. The pressure of device and network is the problem of ISP. ISP need to try their best to solve the problem

Not you my friend, this has been trashed to death so anyone starting another thread on it is trolling as the answer is plastered across multiple threads and not a large effort to uncover, just my opinion.
