02 Landcruiser D4D problem,

    Hi guys have a 02 landcruiser 3.0 d4d, bought as a non runner but have it running nicely now after bit of tlc, only problem now is drives nicely on road but when slow down and come to a standstill, engine management light comes on and limits engine rev to round 2000rpm, stays like that for 1 minute and then cuts out engine. Engine sometimes starts straight away then or else have to wait. Possibly a crankshaft sensor?????:confused::confused::confused:

    you need to go to someone with the right software and plug her in and see what errors are being displayed.. TBH, there must have been a good reason it was a non runner? if you post what was wrong with it and what work you did it might help to diagnose what might be wrong

    Had a caddy van that used to do the same thing. Turned out to be a head gasket. Head was damaged so had to get a new one too. Pain in the ass.
