    Hi all,

I have an issue with a Panasonic Vierra TH-50PY80EY handshaking via HDMI with my Onkyo TX-SR875.

I've read elsewhere that there was a known issue between certain Panasonic TV's and Onkyo amps whereby when the amp input is switched from one input (e.g. a blu ray player) to another (e.g. UPC PVR box) the newly selected signal isn't displayed on the TV and this can only be corrected by updated the firmware on both devices.

The Onkyo has been updated with the latest firmware but I can't for the life of me find out how to update the Panasonic firmware. I've been through several of their websites which offer firmware downloads but they don't have firmware listed for my particular model which is only 3 years old. I emailed their support centre in the UK a few weeks ago but haven't had a reply.

    Help/suggestions anyone?

BTW, physically switching off the newly selected input device and turning it back on again is the only way to get the signal from the newly selected input source to display on the TV. When this is done the signal comes through perfectly every time.

I hope someone here can help me as this is a VERY frustrating problem.

    Cheers,

    Ben

I can't see the firmware for that exact model anywhere. If you give the guys in Plasma Care a ring they may be able to help you. They are the Panasonic service centre for Dublin - 01-4605357

Thanks Adam, if I've got the right guy? (Ex Alliance Electric???)

    Where are you now?

I actually bought the Panasonic off you and you came out to help me hook it up to the Onkyo and Jamo systems I also bought from you.
