hi, i got my iphone 4 only about 2 weeks ago and last night i very briefly spilt water on it, it appeared to work fine until the in ear speaker went, now i can only hear people who call me if i put my phone on speaker, is there any way to fix this and will it be expensive? or can i just send it to apple cos its in warranty? will they notice its water damage?

If it was pure water it shouldn't do much harm, leave it off for a few days and let it dry out.

Warranty doesn't cover water damage so I'd be surprised if they fixed it for free, but it's definitely worth a shot.

Did you purchase insurance with the phone? This might cover it.

All modern phones have water damage indicators, but if water only got in to a small part of the phone I don't know if this would show up.

This happened to my wife's iphone...

Found a very strange fix online

    Ensure Headphones Jack is dry
Insert headphones in and out four or five times

Then set an Alarm through the Clock app

I did this a couple of times, and sorted the problem out for me...
