Can't downgrade OS (3G phone)

    Hi,
I have a 3G iPhone, I'm with Meteor. Model no A1241 (from back of phone), MB489B (from settings).
Phone OS was upgraded from 3.0 to 4.2.1 OS, with pwnage and redsnow.
The iphone works but not for calls, texts, - it states ‘no service’ in the top left hand corner (where the carriers name goes)

In another thread someone suggested downgrading to OS 3.0 or 3.1.3.
I've followed steps here but itunes only wants to restore to (latest version) 4.2.1. On a windows machine, I hold down shift and click restore, but it only wants to restore to 4.0. No option to restore back to 3.1.3.

    1. So how can I get it to restore to a previous version?
    2. Should I restore to 3.0 as that's what I was on before upgrading?
    3. Place that offer unlocking, should they be able to downgrade phones too?

    Thanks in advance,
    Pa.

to downgrade a 3G to 3.1.3, download a copy of 3.1.3. from here
then on itunes, shift and restore to locate the 3.1.3 restore file ! install

the restore might go most of the way, then give an error, and you might be stuck in recovery mode, this is normal, install recboot to kick phone out of recovery

youll need to jailbreak the phone again, then install ultrasn0w from cydia to unlock the phone

You won't be able to downgrade your baseband if you have a bootrom loader later than 5.8, even if you could downgrade the iOS version, the baseband would still be stuck.

You need to upgrade your baseband to 6.15 (iPad) in order to be able to unlock with ultrasn0w.

How can I check what 'bootrom loader' I have?
Also tunes only wants to restore to (latest version) 4.2.1. On a windows machine, I hold down shift and click restore, but it only wants to restore to 4.0. No option to restore back to 3.1.3. So how can I restore 3.1.3?

    Thanks,
