Watched this tonight knowing a little bit about the true story based on half remembered news reports.
Serious quality acting by the 2 leads.
As this was given a limited release in the States I wonder why it never showed up on the Oscar radar.

Penn is impeccable as ever with Watts a match to his powerhouse.
Lovers of political thrillers will love this as I did.

    8/10.

I saw this last night with two friends. They weren't overly impressed but I enjoyed it a lot. Admittedly there was something about the film that wasn't quite right - possibly lacklustre directing, maybe a bit drawn out in places - but as has been mentioned, Penn and Watts put in very strong performances, and it was a fascinating, if disturbing story

I really enjoyed it as well. I thought Liman's directing was very good. Although after watching a few made-for-tv style films in the cinema lately (The Lincoln Lawyer), maybe I've become easily impressed. Fair Game reminded me of 70s films like All The President's Men.
