Hey all. I want to upgrade to a 08 Audi A3 diesel. I'm going for 08 because of the low road tax. I've been checking online (Autotrader, Carzone, Cars Ireland) for something with relatively low mileage (Max 40,000 miles). Prices are coming in at approx 17,500 for the south and for the north slightly less plus the hope of them paying VRT (not sure that the chances of that are!) Still at the stage of sussing out where the best place to go to buy is- north/south/what price range I should be paying. If anyone has been in a similar situation and could shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it?

Are you upgrading/spending 17500 to save money on fuel and tax ?

What you driving a the moment ? and how much is tax and fuel p.a.

I currently have a 01 yarris (petrol) which has over 130,000 miles on the clock and I should have changed years ago but something always took priority. It doesn't cost much on tax or fuel but I am completely sick of Toyota after having the car for so long. Was a great car but just a little bit too safe given that I'm finally taking the plunge to change and have no interest in higher spec Toyota's. Really like the A3- not a fan of the Golf as I know the comparison is always made- figure when I am paying that much might as well go for something I like! I do around 20-25,000 miles per year. Thanks for your reply.
