We stopped shooting them around here 2 years ago as every field had them, and the dog would be pointing none stop, it was the same before the cold spell snipe everywhere, but after the ban the are nowhere to be seen, 2 or 3 here and there

Still good numbers of snipe here but maybe a small bit lower then before Christmas

I was in a wet field along a strand last week and met maybe 20+. The next day there were only 2 or 3

Dupont im not too far from you and i was just talking to a lad there less than an bour ago about how low in numbers the snipe are, like nearly none at all around here, its a nawful pity and it it would be great crack picking of a snipe here and there if your having no luck with ducks or woodcock but cant even do that now!

Theres quite a few in Kildare every-time I'm out, the dog would flush alot of them, I don't shoot snipe as I'm not keen on the taste, so I leave them alone, unless there's friend looking for a few but other than that I see good numbers still here.

They are a great shooting experience thou, so fast and agile

Compared to other years very few snipe at all, even my usual wood cock haunts are low in numbers. I have noticed that this morning some of the old haunts have started to come up trumps, in saying that season is over for me.

Good numbers around me up to a few weeks ago but the last two weeks or so very few so maybe they have just moved off.

Heaps of them where I shoot, and what amazes me is the amount of fat on them, especially with the ground after been so hard foe so long.

I am in Westmeath and the ground we shoot is normally alive with snipe, but since the cold spell thay are few in numbers. Only 2 or 3 in rushes fields where we would normally have 30 or 40. I think they have moved to flowing water as apposed to wet fields after the cold snaps.

Both snipe and woodcock numbers seem to be down this year
