    Hi,

we have been looking at lots of wedding venues and really love the old style gothic castle-y look, in particular Kinnitty Castle and Barberstown Castle, anyone any comments on either or both, good or bad? including food, room layouts, size, place/room for a blessing, next day entertainment?

    any advice most welcomed!

    Thanks

from an entertainment point of view;sometimes I have played in barbarstown the room layout has been an issue as alot of the seating doesn't have a view of the band/dj and these people tend to get isolated. Never been to Kinnity

    thats great, appreciate the feedback.
If anyone out there has any other info on either venue we would really appreciate it as we want the big day to be as memorable as possible for all the right reasons.

Been t both of them, my sister had her wedding meal in Barberstown and i have to say it was the better of the two. Both venues have long rooms, but Barberstown was much roomier, loads of space to walk between tables, whereas Kinnity has a really oddly shaped room, half of the guests are hidden to the side. Kinnity is set in lovely gardens, and there are loads of little nooks and crannies for interesting pictures, and there is a really interesting bar area downstairs, but there are so many small rooms and area's off to the side that its very hard to mingle with the other guests. The meal we had in Barberstown was fantastic, Kinnity was nice, but there were issues with service the night i was there, and the room itself is freezing-so many draughts!! Overall i preferred Barberstown, much nicer room, food was excellent, beautiful gardens and the staff are very accomadating. If i can think of anything else or you have any questions just ask!!
