    Hi there,

My wisdom tooth on my bottom left side has been coming up for sometime now, never too sore but sometimes I noticed it, I think its nearly fully up now. Recently though I noticed a little white bump on the gum beside, its not sore to touch only a little tender with a white head (sorry to be gross)

Anywho so a couple of nights ago my face on that side started to get sore and last night on the same side I noticed a small moveable sore lump about the size of a grape under my jaw!! Its starting to get sore now and am worried it could be some sort of infection. I cant get to a dentist/doc til next week. So was just wondering if anyone has had something similiar to this and what was the outcome.

    Thanks a mil.

    Hey,

I had somethin similar twice in the last year. My wisdom tooth on the bottom left was coming up impacted. It's partially through the gum resultin in food gettin caught once and a while and causing infection.

It started with a bit of tenderness and progressed to a swollen jaw, swollen glands and me not being able to eat solid food for a week. I went to the dentist eventually and he basically said if it's leaking any pus whatsoever it's infected and requires antibiotics. So I'd say definitely get down to the dentist!

The lump could be a swollen gland I guess or maybe a cyst or somethin. Anyway I'm sure your dentist will sort it out!

    Hi EMay.
Sounds like you might have an infected wisdom tooth, if you can't get to your dentist then try rinsing with hot salty water ( not too hot and Very salty) as many times as you want during the day, just don't swallow it. Corsodyl is the best mouthrinse but just once or twice a day for a few days. If your face is swelling on that side then you will need antibiotics so get to your dentist (or gp if you are stuck), not a great idea to let it get worse.
