    Hi yall
I want to run my guitar both straight to the amp and also through a synth module and then to the amp. I want to be able to have either the synth sound, or the guitar sound, or both.
I guess i need some kind of switching box. Where can i find one to do this? Any suggested brands? What about building one?
Thanks in advance for any help/info or both :D

You're gonna need two amps for this more than likely, unless your amp has two inputs for the synth and the guitar. If you were using two amps, the EHX switchblade is great. Other wise you'll need an AB box to run the guitar into the synth and the amp and then ANOTHER if there's only one input on the amp, like a reverse AB box if you understand me?

Yes could use two amps, and i have one with two inputs. Can i run both signals into a box and out through one signal on the other side to the amp though, or do they have to come out as two separate signals too?
Where would i look for the box you mention?
Just googled it. Does it do a and b? Or just a or b?
    Cheers

Well if you have two inputs on your amp an A/B/Y box might work fine. But why are there two inputs, different settings or a built-in mixer or something?

An effect loop is a switch that has an input, an output, and also a send and return. So you can switch something in and out that doesn't have a footswitch (like some rack gear or something) or switch a load of gear in and out (like a whole pedal chain) with just step.

Pinksoir, thanks very much, good to hear
El Pron. Yes i have an amp with two inputs, two channels.
ANother amp with an effects loop
But i dont understand how id use the effects loop in this situation, im playing the guitar in clean and also playing the guitar through the synth and then to the amp.
I want to switch between them or use both at the same time

Boss LS 2 will do what you want and let you use just the one amp.

But technically won't he need two of the boss ls-2's? if he wants to run the guitar straight to the amp AND through the synth module, that's one LS-2. But then he'll need another one for choosing between the synth module and the guitar going into the actual amp.

I had a fender frontman 212r with dual inputs that worked fine with two guitars being played, maybe try your amp with two guitars plugged in at the same time.

I think I'm right. Possibly. Maybe. Maybe not. I'm confused.

Thanks lads. Ya good idea about two guitars, one direct, one through the synth, works great, except not live. Im playing guitar, i want to throw in some harmonica or flute and back to the guitar, or riff with sax and guitar,,,,,,,,,,see what i mean? I cant be taking off one guitar and putting on another and etc. So i want to step on preferably just one pedal to switch over and back

Pretty sure this is what your looking for?

EDIT: Note to self read whole thread firrst. Depending on your amp setup that will work. What is your full rig at the moment?

Ya 68 that's what i was thinking, looks like the solution.
Guitar to sonuus G2M to synth and then to amp, and through Sonuus (not to synth) and to amp.
Was going to put the morley before the amp so could have A/guitar, B/synth, AB/guitar and synth
    Should work no?
