Hi, I need to cancel a flight which is scheduled to leave in a less than 3 weeks. I booked it with ebookers.ie and it is with British Airways. Their T&C says it is €45 to cancel a flight! It seems kind of ridiculous, what is stopping me just not turning up on the day for the flight?

if you don't turn up on the day of the flight then you won't get any refund at all. from what you post above they seem to be offering you an almost full refund, less 45 euro.

Yeah exactly, €45 for cancelling a flight that close is excellent imo, considering it can cost up to €100 just to change a name or flight date.

And as the poster said above the only thing stopping you from not turning up for your flight is the fact that you'll still be charged 100% for it.

If there was no charge for cancelling your flight, what would stop me from booking every single seat on a flight then simply cancelling it a day before so there would be noone on the plane. There is logic about this 45 quid. It's not very much to be honest.

Apologies for jumping on the bandwagon here but I had a holiday to Egypt booked with Falcon for next week. The Dept of Foreign Affairs are warning Irish people not to travel there. Am I entitled to a full refund or would they send me somewhere else for the same value??

The same story with Egypt here: flight on 17/02 booked just the flight with Falcon online for whole family (6ad+2kids). Basically, afraid to go, I believe it is dangerous now. Want them to understand that and to cancel the flight or change to safe Lanzarote. Contacted Consumers association of Ireland, they said we must get a refund if it is unsafe! Company is saying everyday: this evening will have a meeting and if it will be cancelled will let u know. I suppose if all the customers will start to pressurize them, they will understand. Left only 10 days. It is not safe if 5000 prisoners run away from the prison and 2 weeks of chaos, 300 people died.

I think it's highly unlikely that the flights will go. Most countries are working to get their citizens out of Egypt not grt them in. It's not safe at the moment with the poltitical situation there.
