Petty Question: How long before signs must be taken down?

I can't remember if it's Ireland or the UK where there's a time limit set by which time all posters for an election must be taken down, does anyone know how long that is? Also I understand that there are guidelines for where posters can and can't be placed, is there any punishment (in practice) for failing to meet those guidelines?

no punishment anyway, there were several documented case last time about posters up for week or months after the deadline.

Are they also obliged to collect any posters that turn up on the ground? That link seems to imply that its the local authorities problem.

I may be wrong but it's treated as litter and the fines are per poster

Libertas got fined last time around at the MEP elections, left posters up for ages. But what they got fined was tiny money as far as i can remember.
