    Hi,

The missus and me and the 3 little ones (5,3,1) are looking for advice for the summer hols.
    Thinking of spain/portugal for 10 days - 3 days in a city then 7 days in a house/villa.
Any ideas on areas to go/avoid.
We will hire the motor for the week to get to the house/villa.
Would like a family area - no knacker drinking on the streets
Somewhere quiet, safe with a few decent restaurants.

Any websites for villas or car hire (apart from the large obvious ones)

    Thanks in advance everyone.

Found anywhere yet? We(me her and 4 + 1yo) went to calpe, good bit south of valencia last year for two weeks. We all had a great time, Hired a car at airport drove to villa. Detatched house with pool and great bbq. 3 bed house about 1.5km from 2 really nice beaches. Villa amelia in calpe, you can find it on google. went last week may first june got it for 1100. advertised for 1400 but offered 1100 and got it. dont be put off by price, offer what you can afford. alot of places are let by agencies who are open to offers. House was really quiet, not overlooked. would have considered going back this year but decided to find a different place up the coast with a toddler pool. With ryanair flights, the villa, and a car for 2 weeks from doyouspain.com it was less than 2000. Car quote was for 315 for a berlingo(double buggy 4 people and 5 bags) but factor in fuel 2 child seats and extra insurance and it's almost 500, same everywhere i think, i can't find cheaper anyway. you can use google maps to zoom in on prospective villas if you can see the pool shape and layout of the house and garden. gives you an idea how far you are from the airport and beaches etc
