Confused about redundancy situation

    Yet another redundancy thread, so my apologies in advance.

    I found out today that I'm being made redundant. Happy days! :rolleyes:

    I've been working for the company for 2 years and 4 months full time. I was given two weeks notice and the offer is as follows:

    2 weeks pay (for notice period)
    20 holiday days
    9 bank holidays

    As far as I'm aware, I'm also entitled to an actual redundancy payment, rather than being fobbed off with holiday pay - which I'm entitled to, anyway.

    Shouldn't I also be getting:
    * Two weeks' pay (subject to a maximum of €600 per week or €31,200 per year) for every year of service
    * One further week's pay

    I've used the online redundancy calculator, so I think I should be getting the below in addition to the holiday pay.
    Lump sum due to Employee: 5.86 x €600.00 = €3516.00

    I hope someone can clear this up for me. Much appreciated!

    It depends on what it's in your contract, as far as I know. What does it say about redundancy there?

    Well you'd be entitled to 5.33 weeks pay (4 weeks for the 2 years, +1 week for redundancy + 4/12 week for the 4 months). You're entitled to your actual holidays up to the last working day (not the full year) and any bank holidays for the same period.

    Not knowing your salary I can't say if you would get the full 600 a week or not but the above assuming so would put you at 3200 EUR redundancy + outstanding holidays etc.
