is it possible to get free online storage and how much can you get? i have an external harddrive but some stuff disappeared from it recently so i kinda want to be able back up some things again just to be sure

Dropbox is great.

You get 2 Gigabyte free space online which is synced with a folder on whatever computers you install the client software on. It just runs in the background and you don't have to worry about it.

There are a few ways to boost your storage space free like referring people or tweeting about dropbox.

you get 2gb initially with dropbox but you can get more, have a look here
