Go to donedeal.ie type in 2006 nissan almera & have a look at the various asking prices. It'll give you some idea.

    I think 6k is a little optimistic.

Majority of prices on done deal range fro 4500-6500, maybe 5250 would be a be a better asking price for you

I think €6k is too high.

This one is for sale on carzone, private sale asking €4950, granted it has 78k miles but you get the idea:

Nobody will pay a grand extra for one with 18k less miles. I'd start off by advertising it at around €5500 and accept as close as possible to that.

Lots on carzone higher but yeah 5500 might be realistic

I think almeras are priced well behind corollas, golfs, focuss etc. I reckon its gonna fetch about 4750-4950 tops.

Out of interest, does it have an AC button on the dash, most SX models ive seen don't, all have the digital controls alright.

Kind of like the mitsubishi carisma. They're mean't to be decent enough little cars yet they're dirt cheap. Poor resale value. More so than the almera.

Over supply is what killed them, they were the definitive rental fodder of the 00s. All the preregistered cars the dealers were doing and buy one now get a free one in 2 years time deals showed a sense of desperation on the part of nissan ireland that didn't exactly make them desirable.
Lack of a small diesel or even a traditional 1.4 can't have helped.

I think also the fact that model Almera had a life cycle of 8 years without any major changes or improvements which was unusual for most car makers and unusal for a Japanese car maker. It wasn't technically advanced even when it was launched back in 2000, by 2005 it was outclassed by almost everything else yet Nissan didn't know what to do with it so left it soldier on for another 2 to 3 years in the Irish market.

I'd still have one over a Tiida though.
