    How do all!

I need some help with doing my sitting room. Basically, I have a blank slate. The room is in a new house, there's nothing on the floors, the walls are white, the fireplace is cream surround with black marble hearth.

The room is 19ft from window to doors into kitchen, and 12 ft from wall to wall.

The only thing we have bought is a fantastic sofa, its a massive 4 seater, a chair and pouffe. They are black (italian) fabric, with grey and white stripes, reversable to white and black floral pattern.

We are thinking of laminate/semi solid flooring, but don't know what colour. The flooring will also go out into the hallway.

We want something modern, but NOT minimalist. Comfortable and live-in-able is key.

Ideas are welcome, bargains are great. We don't have a massive budget.

We are doing a renovation at the moment as well.
We are going for a commercial grade laminate floor, balterio, it is oak and has a 25 year warranty. Looks fantastic and the price isn't bad either at €18 sqm.

Personally, I think the quality laminates look fantastic and they are hard the beat for durability with young children:D

    Thanks.

Where did you pick that up?

Hiya. I have pals with a similar colour scheme sofa and they have a maple wood floor, it looks fantastic, i don't know whether it's solid or what. They have done their walls in their sitting room with a deep red, nearly burgandy, and they have burnished chrome type fittings. Looks great.

Best of luck - that is a large space to floor - shop around and haggle.
