    Hi All,

I've done quick forum search but wasn't able to find exactly what I was after - was hoping you guys/girls could help.

I'm on the lookout for a couple of business suits - work at the moment is smart casual but its quite easy to fall into the habit of "good" jeans and less than formal tops. Hopefully they can double for use at funerals/interviews etc.

I haven't had the best of luck so far - I'm quite short and somewhat busty, so I would normally wear a size 16/18 for comfort and pretty much anything trousers wise has to be altered - I don't mind doing that if it the fit is otherwise ok.

I would really really prefer natural fibres - cotton/linen/silk, so I don't mind putting a little extra money into this. Preferred colours would be greys/greens/black/dark blue. Debenhams/Next haven't really been very inspiring so any suggestions would be really appreciated. I'd prefer trouser suits to skirts due to my height, but I'd rather stay way from anything approaching a padded shoulder!

    Thanks in advance =)

Actually I'd advise skirt suits on shorter ladies - it shows leg and gives you more appearance of height. Plus skirts are more flattering to waistlines than trousers.

Make sure that the jacket is fitted to end mid-hip - this will enhance your figure.

Next are good for suits - and they do a petite range which fits really well.

Wallis and Monsoon are worth a look, Wallis is a good fit for under 5'4 but only limited natural fibers. Monsoon are great for good fabric but you may have to get the jacket altered. Don't dismiss either shop as old fashioned as a suit if for more than 4 seasons!

Warehouse has brilliant fabrics, more like designer fabrics and the cut is quite edgy, you'd def wear the suit as separates if you invested.

My favorite suits are Benetton, though you will have to alter the entire suit as is fits me perfectly, 5'9.

Oasis and warehouse are good but I think they might only go up to a 16?

Marks and Spencer normally has a good range of suits too - you can mix and match dresses, skirts, trousers and jackets.
